What It Is

A tool for the tissue that will not let go.

IASTM stands for instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization. It uses specialized tools to work on scar tissue, adhesions and connective tissue restrictions that hands alone struggle to reach, particularly the dense, thickened bands that form after an injury or a surgery.

The reason we like it is that it is measurable. We check range of motion before, and we check it again after, so you can see whether the session actually changed anything rather than taking our word for it.

It is precise, it is cumulative, and it is used inside a plan. Temporary redness afterwards is normal and expected.

What It Helps

Where IASTM does its best work.

Especially for the stiffness that came after an injury, a surgery, or a scar.

What A Session Looks Like

Three steps, one visit.

1

We measure your range first.

2

Instrument work on the restriction.

3

We measure again, so you can see it.

Why It Works

Four reasons it earns a place in your plan.

Scar tissue and adhesions become more organized and more stubborn with time, which is why early is genuinely easier than late.

Reaches adhesions hands cannot.

Measured before and after.

Effects build across sessions.

Used inside a plan, never alone.

Questions, Answered

What people ask before booking IASTM.

The tools reach deeper, denser tissue than fingers can, and they let us be more precise about where the pressure goes. For scar tissue and thickened adhesions specifically, that difference matters. For most other things, hands are the better instrument.

Sometimes there is temporary redness in the treated area, which settles within a day or two. It is a normal response to increased blood flow, not a sign of damage, and we adjust the pressure to your tolerance.

Yes. It is not suitable if you have a blood clotting disorder, an active infection, or severe osteoporosis, among other conditions. We screen for that at your evaluation before it is ever used.
