We find the restriction that matters.
Hands-on work on joints, muscle and connective tissue. Not a massage: a clinical technique aimed at a restriction we identified in your evaluation.
What It Is
Manual therapy is skilled hands-on treatment of joints, muscle and connective tissue: joint mobilization, myofascial release, soft tissue work, trigger point release and manual traction. It is used to change a restriction we identified in your evaluation, not to make you feel pleasant for an hour.
That is the honest difference between this and a massage. A massage is for relaxation and it is genuinely good for you. Manual therapy is a clinical technique with a target, chosen because something specific is not moving the way it should.
It is also never the whole plan. Hands-on work opens a window where the joint or the tissue will move better, and the exercise that follows is what makes the change stick.
What It Helps
When something is stiff, restricted, or guarding, and it will not release on its own.
What A Session Looks Like
1
We find the restriction that matters.
2
Hands-on work to change it.
3
Movement to keep the change.
Why It Works
A joint that stops moving does not stay neutral. The tissue around it shortens, and the range gets harder to win back.
Targets a restriction, not a general area.
Relief usually starts the same visit.
Always paired with movement.
Adjusted to your comfort every time.
Pairs Well With
Questions, Answered
No. Massage is focused on relaxation and it is worth having. Manual therapy is a clinical technique aimed at a specific joint or tissue restriction found in your evaluation, with the goal of changing how you move rather than how you feel for the afternoon.
Some techniques are firm, and none should be painful. We work within your tolerance and adjust as we go. Mild soreness afterwards is normal and usually settles within a day.
Not for lasting change. Hands-on treatment creates a window where things move better. What you do in that window is what makes it hold, which is why every session pairs the two.
