Pete Ruther

Co-Owner, COO
I grew up in Channahon, IL, a small town outside Chicago, where I was heavily involved in football and outdoor activities throughout high school. I continued as a college athlete in track at Illinois Wesleyan University, where I earned my B.A. in History.

After college, I worked in sales across various industries for a decade. It was my relocation to Holland, MI, that led me to meet Dr. Kelly.

In 2021, I supported her as she launched Ruther Health and Wellness, and we married in 2022. Seeing the impact of our work together, I joined Ruther Health full-time as Chief Operating Officer in August 2024.

What do you do for the company:

I oversee all business operations including client communications, scheduling, billing, payroll, and physician office coordination. I handle lead follow-up and serve as the primary point of contact for our patients, while also managing our financial operations and administrative systems.

I specialize in creating a welcoming, educational experience from the moment someone contacts us. Whether you’re calling with questions, scheduling your first appointment, or need support during your care journey, I ensure you feel heard and respected.

Something patients have to deal with that you want to fix:

A lack of hope. Too many patients come to us feeling defeated after unsuccessful treatments elsewhere, thinking they’ve “tried everything.” I hear those stories, understand the skepticism, and then get to see the turnarounds—that’s what gives me joy.

Regardless of your past experiences—whether medical, surgical, or therapeutic—you haven’t experienced our approach. Our therapists look at your body as a whole and address the root cause you never knew was the source of your pain—often your pelvic and rib cage positioning. But I’ll be honest—this requires work and commitment to stick through the first couple treatments.

Having been through many treatments for my own knee injury before discovering the techniques Ruther Health utilizes, I understand that frustration. You deserve a higher standard of care, and we deliver it. My role is ensuring you know from the first conversation—there’s always hope for real, lasting healing.

What do you like about working here:

I’m passionate about being part of a team that truly heals and transforms lives. People deserve better care, especially pelvic floor care, and we’re delivering that at Ruther Health. We’re building something special—a practice that’s revolutionizing the patient experience.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working:

I love spending time with my family—Dr. Kelly, our son Cade, and our two dogs. I enjoy fishing, deer hunting, and hiking. I’m much better at pickleball and Spikeball than golf, but I play all three anyway. I’m mildly obsessed with the Detroit Lions.

I find mowing the lawn relaxing, especially with a good podcast or audiobook. I try to read physical books when I have time and am doing my best to grow my faith in Christ every day.
